So I had surgery last Wednesday to remove my port from my chest. Apparently, it’s perfectly normal to have your port taken out while you’re awake, with just a few shots of lidocaine. I questioned this theory considering they have to do a 2 inch incision just to get it out, but figured I’d tough it out.
HA! I’m never doing that again. First, I felt the last swipe of his scalpel. It wasn’t intense, but WOAH! Then, when he got in there, he realized that the surgeon who put in the port put 3 stitches into my chest wall to hold it down! Usually, they put in one. So he had to go in and cut those out, plus cut up a bunch of scar tissue while trying to pull the thing out of there. 15 minutes after he started, he’s finally done. And insult to injury, the lidocaine is wearing off, and I can feel all 7 stitches! Ugh. It was traumatizing.
However, on the awesome side – I got to keep my port! You may say gross…I say YAY! I have many memories with that thing
The Packers utterly dominated today against the Browns, who are terrible. We won 31-3. It was real good.
But I’m already looking forward to next weekend in which I will dominate Lambeau Field by myself to cheer the Packers to Vikings over (sniff) Brett Favre and the Vikings. This week will be FULL of coverage for this game since Benedict Favre is back in Lambeau for the first time since joining up with the ultimate enemy. Argh. I love him and hate him all at the same time!

Me and my ticket to the Vikes game!

Hey all,
I know it’s been awhile – sorry about that. School is beyond overwhelming right now. I’m at that point where I have NO idea how I’m going to get it all done – but eventually, I manage to get it all done anyway. I swear it’s only by the grace of God.
Let’s start with the most important issue. The Packers won on Sunday versus the Lions. Woohoo! 26-0. That sounds like a blowout. It was, but not enough of a blowout. I will not bore you with why. All I have to say is what we did on Sunday is NOT going to be enough to win us a game against the Vikes in 2 weeks.
Secondly, I officially have my ticket to Packers versus Vikings on November 1st! I’m going alone. It’s actually kind of ironic, because had I gone with someone, the tickets would’ve been like 100 bucks more each, and it would’ve been a stretch to afford it. I’m stoked about it! I’ve been to enough games to know that the people around you, whether you know them or not, will make it a great great time – particularly when they find out I’m there alone. I might try to hit up a tailgate party, but that might be awkward
Thirdly, Keloland News did a story on my story. I’m so thrilled about it because they allowed me to give God the glory! It’s pretty cool. Here is the link:
Kelolands story on the awesomeness of God!!!
Well done Courtney!

Hey all,
I had an appointment today with Kelly. I didn’t know what to expect because back in June, I had a clear spot of active cells in the middle of my old tumor. An unlikely place for an infection or false positive, we thought the worst. There was no way to really biopsy it, so I had to just wait for three grueling months to re-petscan it. Last Friday was that day, and today was the results
And the active cells are gone! Kelly says he’s not sure what happened – the scan could’ve been a false positive, or an infection – though we considered all of these things 3 months ago, and I was tested for every infection under the sun, and I had nothing.
I say it’s God! I also think the organic diet I’ve been telling all of you about, plus the Reliv shakes I take have a LOT to do with it. Good nutrition people!
Thanks for all of your love and prayers.
