My Strong-Sad Pumpkin

Another year has gone by, and now it is Halloween. I can’t believe I’ve missed the entire Halloween season. Normally by now, there has been parties and pumpkin carving, and candy — lots of candy, even though I’m really not much of a candy person. In fact, growing up I rarely ate candy. Every Halloween I’d still have my entire candy collection from the year before, my parents would throw it away because I had maybe eaten two or three pieces of it. But that never stopped me from going and collecting 5lbs more of new candy!

This year, there were some Halloween parties on Friday/Saturday, but I choose not to attend. I really wasn’t in a “party” mood I guess. I haven’t really felt like drinking or partying at all lately. I guess it’s just a phase, who knows. But either way, the thought of drinking makes my stomach churn. Even on our bi-weekly poker nights, I only have a Mt.Dew these days…

However, the whole Halloween Holiday reminds me of last Halloween. My house, the 4 guys I lived with (and the woman), all got together and we did a “Strongbad” theme from Homestar Runner. I myself even got into the festivities and carved Strong-Sad.

I have to admit, they were some pretty awesome pumpkins. We had Strong-Bad, Strong-Mad, Strong-Sad, Trogdor!, Homestar and his girlfriend… and … “the Cheat.” Pretty much the whole gang. It was a lot of fun, and the pumpkins came out great.

Ha! You silly, trying to hord more candy, yet not eat it. That sounds like me, actually. Though I became candy obsessed as I got older.

    Those pumpkins are soso impressive.

You bastard! And to think, all those times where I had all my candy eaten within 2-3 days, there was some evil kid in Sioux Falls with tons of uneaten candy.

    /shakes fist in anger

I bet mike could have trick-or-treated this year and gotten away with it.

    He’s so dainty.
