Well, we called the landlords about the furnace being out. They sent out a heating guy, he checked on it and the pilot light was indeed out. He lit it, and poof, blue flame. Except that it started spuratically spitting out bursts of flames, which apparently is “bad.” The heating plate is cracked, they advised it is probably best based on the age of the unit to just replace the whole thing. So we had to go all last night without heat (again).
The landlord guy was nice about it, told us to go pick up a space heater and just take the cost off of next months rent. So we got a free space heater out of the deal. So that’s a plus? Not sure if it’s worth my freezing cold feet over.. but we’ll see.
Anyway, heating place is back again today, so we had to work from home today to be around so they could install a new furnace. Hopefully this will all get fixed soon and I can go back to warmth. 
I wish I knew how you felt.
