So, I need a new game to play.

I’ve played BF2 for the last half-year or so, it’s been a lot of fun. I’m sure I’ll continue to play casually, but not near as often as when we first started out. I’d prefer another Dungeon Siege II type game, I like the idea of equipping items, and games with stats that you can watch grow over time. I’m not a big fan of single-player games, because well… I like playing games with friends, not by myself in the corner.

The only other “major” contender that I see out there is World of Warcraft, but that’s been out long enough that I fear I would get it, spend a month or two catching up, then around that time that’s when everyone that I’d want to play online with suddenly would find a new game or realize they’ve spent 1000 hours playing WoW and should find something new also.

So I’m stuck in the middle of do I want to go ahead and buy WoW? Or do I want to wait it out, see if maybe NWN2 is any good? Maybe a new Diablo will come out? Who knows…

I wish I could play Mario Kart or Doctor Mario with you on-line. That would be fun. :)

ahh yes, good old Mario Kart.

Actually, that would be a pretty good online game. Maybe someday…

actually, you can play the mario kart for the nintendo DS online.

NWN 2 will be a great game. Assuming one of us put enough time into making a multiplayer module worth playing. WoW i’m trying to decide still if I’ll be playing a year from now or not.

I’ve started playing DnD online which is good fun, not far enough in to make a solid judgement on it though. It’s been fun so far, but could degenerate. It doesn’t suffer from “the grind” like WoW does, but that also means there’s only a certain amount of content.

Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is single player only, but looks like a lot of fun.

Both Marvel and DC have Comic based MMO’s coming out in the future at some point.

Honestly mike, your best bet is for you and whoever you play with a lot to get warcraft 3 and it’s expansion (the frozen throne) and play all the player made mods for it. There are some very involved ones, and it’s a ton of fun. (Agi based hero’s for the win)

Feel free to try WoW, it’s not like if you cancel after a month or two you haven’t played the game at all. You have a whole month to decide if you like it before you start paying the monthly fee, and you can always re-activate your account later if you do cancel without losing anything.

If you want to play with a set group of friends RPG’s or FPS games are probably the way to go at this point in time. FPS games though are much kinder about not requiring you to have your friends with to accomplish something.

Oblivion did look neat, but I’m more for the multiplayer value. I like playing games with friends, not so much by myself.

WoW is kind of a toss up, depends on if people would keep playing it. Downfall is it’d take me a couple months just to catch up with people, and a couple months is a long enough time where people might decide to stop playing. Which would be a lot of wasted time which is ‘teh suck’.

Looks like my best bet is to justwait for NWN2 and see if we can get a dootdoot 32 player server going.
