Dr. Horrible

A new link I have seen being passed around this last week is that for Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. I had originally received from spam mail from Felicia Day to check it out, and then had heard from several friends that it was pretty funny. So by this point, I had to check it out.
Luckily for me I checked it out last night, because apparently it was only available free online for one week only in July as production finished. Act one went up on Tuesday, Act on Thursday, and Act three went up this last Saturday. All three were available only through Sunday, July 20th (yesterday). Not a lot of time to catch them all for free, however they are now available on iTunes for fairly cheap.
Each episode was approximately 11 minutes long, and like the title suggests, was mostly a musical. It stared three people: Felicia Day (”that chick from The Guild“), Nathan Fillion (Mal, from Firefly), and Neil Patrick Harris (Doogie Houser).
The whole thing appeared to be a fun side-project for Joss Whedon. Which, I really liked. A lot of the songs reminded me of Sweeney Todd with their happy singing but often about sad or angry topics. In any case, it ended up being a pretty funny short film which I would highly recommend.
It’s back on the site with “limited commercial interruptions” via Hulu. So, it’s back on for free! I’m watching it right now. I enjoy it so far.
It is even in “HD” on Hulu, or so I have been told.
