Landscaping 102
Today was day number two of our landscaping fun. We started by taking advantage of the morning shade in the front-yard along the side of the garage. This was a smaller section between the garage and the sidewalk, but this little section made the whole front of our house look much more complete.
After that, we moved on to our much larger project for the day, the south-east corner of the house, which consists of a huge 10 by 20 foot area under the deck, as well as edging around the stairs and we started along the east-side of the house.
With the front yard and under the deck and stairs completed, I’d say we went through a solid 3 additional tons of rock today. Not to shabby for two days worth of work. Five tons down and five more to go.
After today we will be taking a break. I believe I may have sunburned the back of my neck and my arms. Nothing says awesome like a farmers tan. In any case, just after sitting down for a couple hours, I am pretty sure I am going to be pretty sore tomorrow. I am definitely not in good enough shape to be doing this on a daily basis.
On the plus side, I did get random chili and ice cream breaks supplied by Sonja. I’m not quite sure if that made the work seem worthwhile, but they were well needed when they happened.
Hopefully we will start up again sometime early to mid next week. We’ll see how my poor muscles are feeling by then. As I have tightened up just writing this post!
Chili and ice cream? That’s an odd combination…!
Not at the same time. We had chili for lunch, then as a mid-afternoon break when the temperature was probably the highest there was ice cream.
