This week has been a busy week, and today was no exception. For a Saturday, I was up quite early, ready to go by 9am. My dad came over this weekend to help with some landscaping. Yay for help.

This weekend went much faster than last weekend. We completely finished the east side of our house, and got a very good start on the north side. We called it quits around 12:30 when it was time for lunch and the heat was starting to get to be to much. Plus, we used up the last of our plastic to put under the rock, so it worked out to be a good quitting time. It was exciting to get more done, but I realize we still have the entire west side of the house left, so it’s still far from being done.

All day long our neighbors were stopping by asking if we would be attending the block party. To be honest, we did receive an invitation several weeks ago about it, but I had completely forgotten about it. They hired a live band, and had a huge grillout.

We have a lot of younger people in our neighborhood. I would estimate the average age is probably right around 30 - 32. Which means everyone is just starting to have small children running around. The block party seemed to be a good excuse for everyone to get together, drink beer, and let their children run a muck.

Sonja and I made a brief attendance. We were probably out there for an hour or so during the grill out and for a few songs from the band. Eventually though I had to call it quits and get back to my group project paper. I had done a lot of work Friday night, and made great progress from about 1 until 6, but I still had more to go.

I feel like I have spent way to much time on this crappy project, yet I wish I could still put another 3 - 4 days into it before turning it in. I hate having things feel like they’re not quite finished. That is the one thing I really dislike about taking a summer graduate course, the lack of time we are presented with just does not seem right. In the full semester course we would have received around 4 - 6 weeks to work on a group project, which would have been ample time. It probably did not help much that we had some bad timing with Seth being gone this weekend (who was my group partner for the project).

In any case, the course is over in a couple of days, so it won’t matter much longer I guess!
