Olympics: Hockey

The Men’s Curling at the Olympics today left a lot to be desired… again! With their fourth loss in a row because of yet ANOTHER losing final throw, I am about ready to throw in the towel for cheering for Team USA for Curling. I might as well start focusing on the Canadian games instead. While I give the USA team a lot of slack because they, unlike a lot of other athletes in the Olympics, are not a truly sponsored team and therefore don’t have the same time and budget available for vigorous training that some other countries have… I am still disappointed in Team USA’s performance thus far.
The only saving grace has been the follow up Olympic Hockey games where Team USA has been cleaning house with everyone. Today’s win of 6 – 1 against Norway, while a bit sloppy, was still a huge improvement over the massive fail-cake that our Men’s Curling team has had.

On the plus side, despite who wins, Sunday’s Hockey game with Team USA vs Team Canada should be a very exciting event!
I’m excited to watch that!!
How has USA’s womens curling been doing?
I know it’s hard to believe, but even worse than the Men’s.
The Men have been fighting the whole way and just fail-caking their last end. The Women however, they have been making far to many mistakes throughout the entire matches.
Last night’s was pretty bad, they had 2-3 shots to pull ahead, and instead would give up a point, 2 or 3. Horrible, just plain horrible.
