From Dr. Horrible to Dr. Who
Recently Mike discovered a little program called Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. Apparently this was a side project Joss Whedon was working on during the 2008 writer’s strike. The story line is broken out into three acts. The show follows Dr. Horrilbe, played by Neil Patrick Harris(a.k.a. Doogie Howser), as he strives to join the Evil League of Evil. His character has several good rants and the program has some fun songs. The style of music reminds me of Joss Whedon’s musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Co-stars include Felicia Day, Dr. Horrible’s love interest (Penny) and Nathan Fillion, Dr. Horrible’s arch nemesis (Captain Hammer).
Mike also took it upon himself to hook me on the BBC show Doctor Who. We just finished with “Season 1″ of the relaunch in 2005. I know nothing of the past series but it’s a fun fantasy show about time and space travel. The Doctor is the last remaining Time Lord who takes on a human as his companion. Each episode is a new adventure. The stories are a little far fetched and the special effects can be a bit goofy but it adds character to the show! If you’re interested in taking a gander the SciFi channel shows reruns.

I enjoyed Dr. Horrible. I really thought the music was well down.
