I Ran Today

Running log. Started 6/8/2009 at 2 A.M. after my first run of June.

My goal is 5 days of running per week until such time as I either a.) go under 200lbs or b.) can benchpress my own weight. A minimum of 4 days of running per week will be considered success, any less will be failure.

Obviously this goal could be helped immensely by smart eating. I don’t have the time to do lots of research on smart eating, so I’m going to just focus on cutting portions and including fruits in as many meals as possible for now.

Re-evaluation of the running schedule will take place upon hitting either goal.

Nice work. Once you’re up to 3 miles we can sign up for a 5k. :)
P.S. You have odd workout times!!
P.P.S. You shouldn’t consider not running 4 times a week as a complete failure; 1-3 jogs per week is still better than none. Perhaps you should have degrees of “failure.”

Dan should get an ipod and a nike thingy =)

Nice progress in week 2. Yyou should consider getting a Nike+iPod so we can do running challenges online. :) They’re only $20 or so. And you could add the fun Nike widget to your blog!

need to buy an ipod first.

I doubt the sensor is very accurate until I can do a full workout at one pace. And really, I won’t be able to give you any sort of challenge for at least another six weeks. If I’m not running at least 3 miles a day it’s not going to compete with your 1/2 marathon training in the slightest…

  6.   Sonja Says:

    a) I’m not training for a half marathon anymore.
    b) You should buy an iPod.
    c) The sensor is fairly accurate when you change speeds.
    d) I do a stretch that I think helps with shinsplints – point your toes down and use the floor to pull against them; it stretches the muscles against the shin.

    another fail :(

  9.   Sonja Says:

    How’s the toe?

  10.   mike Says:

    More running Dan, less fail.

  11.   zombiefooddan Says:

Toe looks a little better but will be blackish for a long time since it turned out to be a blood blister under the nail. It feels normal anymore though, so it’s time to get back out there running now that softball is over.
