It is hard to believe it has been over a year since I ordered my Polk Monitor70′s (L/R) and CS2 (C). They were originally intended for the new home entertainment area in the basement, but ended up being my living room speakers for the better part of 2011.

Now that the basement is finally done, they’ve been migrated to their final resting place. When I originally ordered them, I picked up picked up a Polk PSW505 Subwoofer to go along with them. It isn’t the awesome SVS subwoofer I was planning on, but I got it for a fraction of the price, and it is still a “good” subwoofer.

When I picked it up, I had thought about ordering two. The receiver I planned to use has 7.2 audio out, and I wanted a symmetrical setup. Maybe not the best reasons, but it is what it is.

For the last 4-6 months I’ve casually monitored the PSW505 pricing. I saw the price climb from the $179 I bought mine for all the way up to $399. It generally seemed to hover around the $249 – $299 mark though.

I don’t know what it is, but I couldn’t get myself to pay a dime more than I bought the first one for. Call it stubborn, but I waited and waited. Finally a week or so ago I had a newegg coupon, combined with a weekly deal to bring my price back down to what I originally paid.

Well, that was it. I figured it was now or never, as it’s been far to long since I’ve noticed a decent price on this guy (with an exception of the time I missed the deal because it was out of stock).

So now I have my dual subwoofer setup.
